Palau Moxo
The Palace was built in 1700, on the bases of an ancient palace from the 13th Century.
It was the most important private residency in Barcelona during the Middle Ages.
It is also known as the Palace of the Marquis of San Mori, one of the most aristocratic family,
married to Francisca Güell, a daughter of the Viscount Güell, Gaudi's sponsor.
The Güell family had several residencies in the area, among them, the Palau Güell (palace), designed by Gaudi.
It has several reception rooms and a Gothic altar, which had the functions of private chapel while the
Marquise de San Mori lived in the palace. It still belongs to the heirs of Güell and Moxo, who open it to private events.
It is located at the square "plaça Sant Just" in front of a beautiful Gothic church,
very close to the Town Hall and the Palace of the local government (Generalitat).
Couples wishing to live an unforgettable experience in the heart of Barcelona,
can stay at the hotel Neri, very close to this area, which is located in a palace of the
16th-17th Centuries and it offers the comfort of the most modern hotels today.
